This Fall, Come Travel with The Escape Artist
There are many ways to travel. Sometimes we board a ship and let the world unfold along the river. Sometimes we head into the wild. Sometimes we simply open a book and let someone else's story take us somewhere we've never been.
This fall, I'm creating a few opportunities to do all three.
I've put together a small calendar of virtual travel conversations, inspiration, and gatherings—some featuring wonderful travel partners, one launching something entirely new, and all designed to give you an opportunity to be curious, ask questions, dream a little, and perhaps discover what's next for you.

Discover Sailing the Danube from Hungary to Germany
An evening with Emerald Cruises, September 10 at 7pm
River cruising has become increasingly popular, but not all river cruise experiences are created alike. This evening, we'll get to know Emerald Cruises and take a closer look at a special April 8–18, 2027 journey along the Danube, traveling from Budapest to Passau.
We'll talk about what makes Emerald distinctive, the blend of cultural and active experiences available along the way, and some of the wonderful places this itinerary visits—including Vienna.
We'll also discuss the practical side of planning the journey, including current pricing and promotional opportunities for both single- and double-occupancy cabins.

Some destinations leave an impression long after you've unpacked your suitcase.
Kenya is one of those places.
Having traveled there myself, I'm especially excited to share an evening inspired by my own experiences—and by a special small-group journey I'm creating with TemboWild for November 2027.
We'll look beyond the classic image of the safari to explore the conservation, culture, landscapes, and extraordinary encounters that make Kenya such a remarkable place to travel. I'll share some of my own photographs and stories, and we'll take a closer look at the itinerary, accommodations, and experiences that make this journey so special.
If Africa has ever been somewhere you've dreamed of going, come see it through the eyes of someone who's been there.
And if you're not quite ready to go? That's perfectly fine, too. Sometimes inspiration comes first.

Introducing the Escape Artist's Travel Book Club 📚

Some of the best journeys begin between the covers of a book.
This fall, I'm adding something new to the Escape Artist's calendar: a casual travel book club for people who love to read, travel, and discover where the two intersect.
Our first selection is The Secret of Secrets by Dan Brown, a Robert Langdon thriller set largely in Prague. You don't need to have read the previous Langdon novels to enjoy this one—each story stands on its own. But if you've encountered The Da Vinci Code, you'll already know the character at the center of the adventure.
We'll give ourselves about a month to read, then gather for a relaxed, coffee-table-style conversation about the book, the places it takes us, and the adventure that ensues in a bustling city filled with history and mystery.
This isn't homework. There won't be a test. 😉 It's simply an invitation to read, wander, and see where the pages take us.

We'll explore the pleasures of traveling outside the traditional peak season and look at a few Collette journeys that show familiar destinations in a different light. Escape Artist's Travel Book Club • Coffee & Conversation We'll gather to talk about The Secret of Secrets, Prague, the places we've been inspired to visit—and, inevitably, whether the book made us want to pack a suitcase. Beyond the Wedding • A Honeymoon Worth Remembering The wedding may be the big event, but the honeymoon is where the two of you finally get to exhale. We'll talk about designing a honeymoon around the couple—not simply choosing a beautiful resort—and explore some Caribbean possibilities along the way.
